Yes. We support one off events, temporary cover, ad hoc assignments and ongoing contracts. The operating plan, supervision and reporting are tailored to the length and complexity of the requirement.

Minimum booking requirements can vary according to the service, number of officers, location and deployment. Event and private security assignments may need minimum staffing or hours so the operation is safe and commercially practical. We will confirm this clearly when quoting.
Where the assignment is ongoing, we aim to build consistency into the deployment where practical. Familiarity with the site, team and procedures can improve communication and operational understanding, while still maintaining enough trained cover for absence and changing requirements.
There is no single number that suits every event. Staffing should be based on the event risk assessment, crowd size and profile, venue layout, entrances and exits, alcohol, search requirements, restricted areas, operating hours and emergency arrangements. There is no universal UK security guard to guest ratio that automatically applies to every event. The appropriate staffing level depends on risk, venue arrangements and the event plan, and may also be affected by premises licence conditions, local authority requirements or Safety Advisory Group advice.
A steward is commonly focused on customer assistance, directions, ticketing, crowd information and safety duties. Security officers carry out licensable security activity where the correct SIA licence is required. Many events use both roles with clearly defined responsibilities.
A door supervisor licence covers a wider range of licensable activity and is commonly required where security is provided at licensed premises or events involving alcohol and entry control. A security guarding licence does not replace a door supervisor licence where door supervision is required.
Bag searches should be planned in advance and carried out lawfully, consistently and in line with the venue or event entry conditions. Search arrangements must also avoid creating unsafe crowd pressure or excessive queues. We can help plan search positions, staffing and escalation procedures.

No. As of September 2026, the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly called Martyn's Law, has received Royal Assent but is not yet in force. The SIA currently says it is expected to commence in spring 2027.
No. The Act has defined scope and requirements for qualifying premises and qualifying events. Whether a particular venue or event is in scope depends on the legislation and official guidance. Organisations should use current Home Office and SIA guidance when assessing their position.
Responsibility under Martyn's Law cannot simply be transferred to a security contractor. Where appropriate, Semper can support operational security planning, staffing, access control, crowd management and response arrangements, but the responsible person or organisation remains responsible for meeting its legal duties.
The SIA recommends that organisations that may be in scope start by understanding whether the legislation could apply to them and reviewing current Home Office guidance.
